About the Position
The Data Center Operations Intern will support the Data Center Operations and Operations Center teams. These teams are responsible for customer and data center operations support. The Data Center Operations Intern will assist technicians with customer remote hands support and provide timely communication. This position will also assist the Data Center Operations Technicians with operational activities including basic preventative maintenance activities, cleaning critical spaces, and operating the building controls system. The Data Center Operations Intern reports to the Data Center Operations Engineer 2. The ideal person for this role will have a strong desire to start a career in the data center industry, be a self-starter and must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.Â
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESÂ
Assist with performing customer remote services, including:Â
Remote hands services as requested by customersÂ
Timely customer communicationÂ
Manage and document customer requestsÂ
Provide customer reports as requestedÂ
Assist Data Center Operations team with facility maintenance, includingÂ
Clean and Maintain Critical HVAC Equipment in all weather conditionsÂ
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on general facility equipmentÂ
Maintain documentation associated with equipment maintenanceÂ
Operations Center support:Â
Uses monitoring applications in conjunction with ticketing systems to support customers and data center operations teams.Â
Responsive interaction with operations teams for customer notifications.Â
Continual observation and monitoring of data center systems.Â
Provide support for a variety of projects within the data center.Â
Follow documented processes and procedures and suggest changes and improvements.Â
Leverage AI tools (e.g., GPTs, automation platforms) to streamline routine tasks such as summarizing documents, drafting correspondence, generating meeting notes, and maintaining engagement trackers.Â

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSÂ
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and operate a variety of hand and power tools Â
Interface with technology and operate digital tools.Â

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSÂ
High School Diploma or GEDÂ requiredÂ
Basic knowledge of hand tools requiredÂ
Some experience/education in Information Technology (IT) preferredÂ

MINIMUM COMPETENCIESÂ
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.Â
Ability to become proficient in other software. Â
Demonstrated desire to continuously learn. Â
Must be detail oriented with the ability to maintain a strong focus on attention to detail.Â
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Â
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and closely follow instructionsÂ
