About the Position

Microsoft is offering a highly competitive Datacenter Internship for individuals interested in technology infrastructure, operations, and hands-on technical experience.


This internship is a unique opportunity to step inside the world of large-scale datacenters, the backbone of cloud computing and modern digital services, and gain real-world experience working alongside industry professionals.


At the end of the program, participants will have the opportunity to apply for full-time roles with Microsoft.


Benefits

This is a paid internship located in Quincy, Wa., with an hourly range of $22.02–$28.46. Interns will also have access to most Microsoft benefits, including health insurance. At the end of the internship, participants will have the opportunity to interview for full-time roles.

Responsibilities

What to Expect

During the internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience inside a Microsoft datacenter while rotating through multiple functional areas. This rotation is designed to give you a well-rounded understanding of how datacenters operate, from day-to-day operations to the systems that keep everything running smoothly. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, build practical skills, and see how different roles come together to power critical technology infrastructure.

Microsoft is looking for candidates who are currently part of the Datacenter Academy or have completed the program. You should have your high school diploma (or equivalent) by June 30, 2026, and be at least 18 years old by that date.


Applicants should be currently pursuing, or have completed, a certificate or degree in Information Technology, Information and Communication Technology, or a closely related field. You must also be available for a full-time, 16-week internship beginning in the fall.


Preferred (but not required): CompTIA certifications such as A+, Server+, or Network+, and/or experience with Basic Structured Cabling (BSC), OSHA 10/30, Electrical experience.
