Summary of the STEM Network Co-Director Role:
Central to one of our primary pillars, STEM education, this leadership role calls for close collaboration with business, community, and educational leaders to amplify opportunities for our youth in STEM careers. Strong public speaking and stellar communication skills are essential. The role involves devising innovative programs, leading events, and excelling in a dynamic, collaborative environment. We're searching for a leader deeply aligned with and passionate about the NCW Tech Alliance's mission — someone enthusiastic about nonprofit initiatives, skilled in relationship-building, and with the charisma to inspire teams and communities. This position is based in Wenatchee.
Responsibilities
Administer and oversee growth of STEM programs across the organization
Create program plans/templates, compile details, and prepare program to be executed
Manage program timelines and assigned budgets
Identify prospective participants for programs
Track program impacts and outcomes, and develop metrics to assess program success
Advocate and promote the mission of NCW Tech Alliance with community members, partners, and stakeholders.
Support team with all NCW Tech Alliance events
Other related duties as assigned
This role is based at the NCW Tech Alliance office in Wenatchee. This individual will be instrumental in collaboratively supporting both NCW Tech Alliance and Apple STEM Network members, partners, and stakeholders across a four-county region. Regional and State travel is periodically required. In-person position with the flexibility to occasionally work remotely. This is a salaried position with the expectation that working during into the evening and weekends may be required to fulfill the duties of this role.
Under the leadership of NCW Tech Alliance Executive Director, this individual's primary role within the organization will be to co-lead the Apple STEM Network. In addition, this individual will support all nonprofit activities under the NCW Tech Alliance umbrella.
The mission of the Apple STEM Network is to expand the number of young people in North Central Washington who are on a path to a promising career that they’ve chosen for themselves, that offers long-term stability and will earn them a family wage. The Apple STEM Network is co-lead by leaders at NCW Tech Alliance and NCESD.
Our shared vision is that no less than 70% of the young people in North Central Washington are equipped for their future with a postsecondary credential or degree, in alignment with the Washington State credential attainment goal.
To accomplish this, we have focused our collective impact work around 5 major objectives. Each is included below alongside the strategies and aligned programs. As this collective impact work has grown, additional funding has been leveraged and is also highlighted.

The Apple STEM Network aims to:
GOAL 1: INCREASE STEM AWARENESS AND SUPPORT FOR STEM EDUCATION - in the community promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) for ALL, and clearly outline pathways to regional STEM careers;
GOAL 2: PROMOTE CAREER CONNECTED LEARNING- spark interest local industry through authentic field experiences, STEM challenges and career prep/launch opportunities for students including: apprenticeships, internships and mentorships with local industry and community partners;
GOAL 3: FORTIFY TRANSITIONS - promote a culture that includes school, community and families in focusing on resources for underrepresented students, to support student transition from early learning through post-secondary training and workforce career pathways in STEM;
GOAL 4: SUPPORT EDUCATORS - encourage educators to integrate technology and project-based learning into current teaching practices, continue STEM professional learning, and engage community and business partners to support local schools and educators;
GOAL 5 : PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR COMMUNITIES IN NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON - maintain and grow relationships with regional stakeholders and industry professionals to support the long term success of our economic growth.
Desired Skills & Experience
Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Suite.
Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skill.
Adapts to change in a positive, professional manner.
Consistently handles all requests in a positive manner.
Excellent meeting facilitation skills and planning, both online and in-person.
Excellent project-management skills with a strong understanding of workflow.
Ability to network, build relationships, foster trust, and collaborate across diverse audiences.
Understanding and commitment to the practices of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
1+ years of experience coordinating or leading programs/projects.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Required
WA State Driver’s License
Strong communication skills
Comfortable with public speaking
Hours are typically Monday through Friday but there is a lot of flexibility in terms of what hours each day. Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
